Oh! I hope yall knew our post about R. kelly was April Fools. A Brooklyn judge has denied R. Kelly’s request for release due to the coronavirus pandemic. R Kelly is not among the inmates most endangered by the disease.
Kelly is currently being held at the Chicago Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he is awaiting trial on racketeering, sexual misconduct and other charges in three jurisdictions. His attorneys requested that he be released back on March 26. They mentioned that at his age 53, and a recent surgery that he is at risk of catching the illness.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly denied the motion, they believe that he is a flight risk.
“The defendant is currently in custody because of the risks that he will flee or attempt to obstruct, threaten or intimidate prospective witnesses,” Donnelly wrote. “The defendant has not explained how those risks have changed.”
Kelly’s attorneys wanted him on home confinement at the Roosevelt Collections Loft apartment complex in Chicago. The attorneys had also complained that the prison’s new restrictions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 have made it impossible for them to meet with Kelly and prepare for trial.
Nice post. I learn something totally new and challenging on sites
I stumbleupon on a daily basis. It’s always exciting to
read through articles from other writers
and practice a little something from other websites.
