#RKelly lawyer speaks out about the alleged attack on R Kelly. It was reported that an inmate at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) in Chicago entered R Kelly cell and began to punch him. Allegedly the inmate was upset about the center having to go on constant lock down due to R Kelly protestors outside. No current updates on his condition at this time.
R.Kelly was beaten up and almost stabbed during the incident. According to court records obtained by TMZ, the alleged attacker identified himself as Jeremiah Shane Farmer.
In the documents Jeremiah claims:
The government made me attack Kelly. I pulled it off in hopes of shedding light on government corruption.
Jeremiah does not go into great detail about why the government “made him do it”. As for what the “corruption” is … he feels he was done dirty by the justice system.
Jeremiah’s admission is part of legal docs filed in a federal appeals court. Records show he’s representing himself and is being housed at MCC with R.Kelly.
R. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, told TMZ that Jeremiah is indeed the one who attacked the singer.
Allegedly, the attack was due to the inmate being upset at all the lockdowns and the chaos created by R.Kelly protestors.
Jeremiah also included a Bureau of Prisons incident report in his filing, which says the alleged attack happened around 9:45 AM August 26. The report says that he punched R.Kelly in his head and torso over and over. The assault was broken up when a prison guard used pepper spray.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana says Jeremiah is a Latin Kings gang member, and he was convicted last year for beating 2 men to death with a hammer as part of a racketeering conspiracy.
R.Kelly’s lawyer is concerned for his safety and does not feel this will be the last attack on the singer.
