On February 25, Ruth E. Carter will get her very own well-deserved and earned star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Carter has been a costume designer for over 30 years and worked on other big feature films like School Daze, Malcolm X, Amistad, and Selma. All of which have been rank on numerous “best of” list and received countless nominations.

“ALL the STARS are CLOSER!” she tweeted her excitement using lyrics from a song by Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
She continues by saying “Especially those on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! I raise my star, thankful for my life, to embrace the people who know my journey and are very proud of me and of my work. And now that history is made I raise my star as I am forever grateful,”
