Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
Beckham Jr. was injured in the 1st quarter of Sunday’s Week 7 game vs the Cincinnati Bengals. Quarterback Baker Mayfield threw an interception and while attempting to make the tackle Beckham Jr. went down and stayed down for a minute.
While he was eventually able to get up and walk off under his own power it was clear Beckham Jr. was seriously hurt.
The Browns went on to win the game 37-34 after some late-game heroics by Mayfield. However, the injury to OBJ will definitely play a part in the team’s success moving forward.
Statistically, the Browns and Baker Mayfield specifically produce better numbers without OBJ on the field. There have been rumors about Beckham who is 28 years old, wanting out of Cleveland due to chemistry issues with Baker Mayfield.
However, now the superstar receiver must miss some time out of his prime years to rehab, and worry about where he will be playing later. We wish Odell the best and a very speedy recovery.
