Sunday was the premiere of the ESPN documentary ‘The Last Dance’. During the documentary, Michael Jordan talks about the time that he walked in on a wild party the Bulls were having his rookie year. “I walk in, and practically the whole team is there” Jordan explained.
“It was things I had never seen in my life as a young kid. You got your lines over here, you got your weed smokes over here, you got women over here” he continued.
“The first thing I said is, I’m out” Jordan said. “Because all I can think about is if they come raid this place right now, I am just as guilty as everyone else in this room. From that point on, I was more or less on my own”.
Before joining the Bulls, Jordan played for the University of Chapel Hill. With being the new kid on the block, Jordan explained that he felt on his own. Rod Higgins confirmed that Jordan never took part in any partying that year. Jordan wouldn’t even drink with his teammates, orange juice and 7 up was his go-to drinks.
It looks like avoiding the crazy parties paid off for Jordan. He led the Chicago Bulls to win six NBA championships and became one of the greatest players of all time. GOAT! The documentary can be watched every Sunday on ESPN at 9:00.
