Grammy award-winning Lil Wayne will provide a tribute to the late great basketball Legend Kobe Bryant at the 20th annual 2020 BET Awards.
Back in January, Lil Wayne paid tribute to Kobe Bryant on his brand new album he dropped when he had 24 seconds of silence on track #8 to show love to the Lakers legend. The numbers 8 and 24 will forever be Kobe’s numbers.
Wayne had been working on the album “Funeral” for years, but after he heard about Kobe’s death he reached out to Young Money President, Mack Maine, to make last-second changes to honor Kobe Bryant.
Wayne is a huge basketball fan who LOVES the Lakers and has been a huge Kobe fan for as long as I can remember. In fact, he dropped a song called “Kobe Bryant” years ago.
Wayne also shouts out “Black Mamba” in the chorus of another song called “Ball Hard.”
Wayne’s “Funeral” album also had 24 tracks but he told Skip Bayless that was just a coincidence.
There is no word of what Lil Wayne will actually do to honor Kobe but something tells me it will be dope. RIP to the Legend!
