Cardi B has had one crazy year, a lot like us all. She has been in and out of the media for most of the year. Billboard however is honoring her in such a HUGE WAY. She has been named their 2020 Woman Of The Year.
Cardi earned the honor from her brand new Reebok deal, her involvement in political activism, and for her highly successful single “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for several weeks.
Billboard’s Women in Music event is set to air virtually on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. ET hosted by Teyana Taylor. Other artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Chloe x Halle and Dolly Parton will also be honored.
Over the summer, Cardi sat down with now President-elect Joe Biden to talk about the importance of voting, Donald Trump, and the Coronavirus pandemic.
“I have a whole list of things that I want our next president to do for us,” she said. “But first, I just want Trump out. His mouth gets us in trouble so much.”
Cardi talked about her concerns involving living in America.
“I feel like this country is so hurt, to the point that this year, a lot of people couldn’t even celebrate July 4th, because not everybody feels like an American,” she explained. “A lot of people feel like [they’re] not even part of America.”
She recently went to her Instagram to address the naysayers about her recognition.
