Busta Rhymes gives us cinematic visuals that conclude the storyline from 18 years ago. The new video looks like it will feature a few familiar faces, as well as some new ones, as rapper Trippie Red makes a cameo.
In “I Know What You Want,” Busta plays a hired bodyguard for the wife (Tae Heckard) of his friend (Michael Jai White). Once Busta locks eyes with Tae, we can feel the forbidden passion. Throughout scenes and lyrical storytelling, we can see that Michael Jai White’s character is a boss who doesn’t have much time for his beautiful trophy wife. She is frustrated and unhappy, even though she has all material desires at her hand.
We know by now that money doesn’t buy happiness, and she is looking for some good attention. She starts to fantasize about Busta’s character coming to her rescue. They fight the forbidden love cravings, just as the husband comes home snd interrupts what could have been a disastrous love affair. Mariah serves us the best of 2000s fashion, in her gold bikini top, short jean shorts, stilettos, and a leather visor hat, while giving effortless vocals.
“I Know What You Want” stayed on the Top 40 for 21 weeks. It was ranked #17 on the Hot 100 chart (2003).
