The arrest of a 6 year old
6 year old Kaia Rolle that was arrested September 19 in Orlando Florida at Lucious and Emma Nixon Academy Charter School. The family of Kaia has released never before seen body cam footage that was released to them by the department. The footage shows the 6 year old crying for help begging for help as a police officer arrests her at her school. It shows her breaking down in tears while the officer restrains her with zip ties. On the day of the incident Kaia allegedly had a temper tantrum and kicked the teacher. The police was called to arrest the 6 year old first grader.

Meralyn Kirkland was furious after learning her granddaughter was arrested, finger printed and mug shot taken. Kirkland previously told CNN that Kaia suffers from sleep apnea, which could her cause her to act out in school. Kirkland said the family repeatedly worked with school officials to manage Kaia’s condition.
“She has a medical condition that we are working on getting resolved and he says, ‘what medical condition, she has a sleep disorder, sleep apnea,’ and he says, ‘well I have sleep apnea and I don’t behave like that.” Kirkland explained.
Kirkland also was not notified of the arrest before it happened. “What do you mean she was arrested, he said ‘there was an incident and she kicked somebody and she is being charged and she is on her way,’” Kirkland explained.
“Help me, help me, please!” she screams.
Officer Dennis Turner fired
Officer Dennis Turner arrested Kaia after she reportedly had a temper tantrum at school and “battered three staff members by kicking and punching them“, according to an arrest report. As Turner escorts her outside, the she continues to cry while pleading, “Please let me go,” and “I don’t want to go in the police car.”
Turner, who can be heard in the [VIDEO] bragging about arresting 6 & 7 year olds; arrested another 6-year-old that same week. He was later fired for arresting children younger than 12 without a supervisor’s approval. The 6-year-old girl shown in the body cam video was charged with misdemeanor battery, but prosecutors dropped that charge the following day, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
“They told us we had to wait a few minutes because Kaia was being fingerprinted, and when she said finger printed it hit me like a ton of bricks,” Kirkland said. “No six year old child should be able to tell somebody that they had handcuffs on them and they were riding in the back of a police car and taken to a juvenile center to be fingerprinted, mug shot”
